In Memoriam ~ Sonnet 24

Our Love that blossomed in the flush of Youth,
the way that You became my entire life,
You, the most beautiful thing, that’s the truth,
on bended knee I asked You, “Be my wife?”,
Time passed, the two We were became as one,
My Love for You grew stronger every day,
You blessed me with a daughter, with a son,
Soft hair, once raven black, began to grey,
Our children grown with children of their own,
both care and time did mark Your wrinkling brow,
Life’s winter chilled us both down to the bone,
I Loved each new and silver’d hair You’d grow,
But now You are beyond my warm embrace,
my heart died when You passed on from this place.
